Laura Belnap, my friend from U of U days just sent me this beautiful sampler because I responded to her blog challenge for a handmade gift. I just can't believe the work that went into it, especially the French knots! It's just lovely Laura, and my first fall decoration up this year, thank you so much. I hope you like what I'm making for you as much as I like what you did for me. I can't promise when you'll get your gift from me, but you will one of these days and I hope it comes at a time when it will brighten up your life. Thank you!
I've planted daisies this year and they are all about dead. It's so depressing sometimes to live in the desert and want something as simple as daisies and not be able to have them! I've been feeling sorry for myself a little in the last few weeks because Yucca isn't exactly where I want to live my dream life and sometimes I get hung up on that fact. And yet this morning as I finally sat down to post this overdue thank you I began to feel so grateful that I have friends, a computer, a camera, and even fall finds me here eventually. I may not live in the place of my dreams but I really am living my dreams, at least some of them, and I'm glad to have the many blessings I do have, even if I have to buy my pumpkins from Walmart instead of the beautiful little pumpkin patches found other places.
God is good to me and I am blessed.

I'm so glad you liked your surprise! I had a lot of fun making it. I started questioning my "fall" embroidery choice since you don't really have fall where you live!
Merry Christmas Ann! I didn't do cards this year, but I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
