yummy stuff

I just put a pan of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies in the oven and thought I'd share them with you even though they haven't come out and even though I'll never taste them. They just looked yummy enough to try and to serve untested (breaking my own food rule #1!). I have to make a desert for a funeral tomorrow and I happened to have a brownie mix so this was it. I didn't have a cookie mix (duh) but I made my own yummylicious cookie recipe. I will definitely make the ganache for the top.

If you try this recipe let me know how it is. I always have my family rate recipes on a scale of 0-10. 0=gross! I'm about to barf and 10=Ooh I want this for my birthday dinner!!! I'll have the kids test it in the morning and let you know what they thought of it.

Not eating sugar puts a damper on my baking. There are so many things I want to try and that look so good but I get nervous. I like finding recipes online because I can read so many comments or reviews and when there are tons of positives I trust them for the most part. Maybe I'm just gullible to mass public opinion--a scary thought considering how I feel about pop culture and such!

Here's the link, let me know what you think. Oh, and you'll love the link too!

** The ratings are in...
Reilly had a piece for breakfast this morning and gave it a 7.5
Noah gave them an 8 but said he didn't like the ganache
Libby gave them a 9 but wanted less or no frosting
Truman gave them a three (he's like you Jolene--he'll take grapes any day!)

I love the bakerella blog. You are stronger than I am to resist sugar, I don't think I could do it. But I love my fruits and veggies more than my cookies and cakes, I just need something sweet every now and again :)!!

Those look good! One of our family's favorite brownie recipes has a layer of (unbaked) cookie dough on top of the brownies. I'm craving chocolate so badly these days....
